Mr. Brij Panjwani did his graduation in Architecture from the Prestigious Roorkee Engineering College (Now IIT Roorkee) in the year 1982. He started his Architectural practice from Roorkee alongwith his Architect wife Mrs. Ila Panjwani who also graduated in Architecture from the same institute. The initial years were full of struggle as the concept of Architecture was not well established in these cities and people used to think that this is an unnecessary expense. Projects were few and far between but he continued to work hard on whatever projects he got and soon his stamp was visible on the buildings he created. In a career spanning 37 years he has designed all kinds of buildings ranging from Commercial Complexes, Hotels, Hospitals, Shopping Malls and Luxarious Bungalows. When Uttranchal became a new state he shifted his office to Dehradun and today Panjwani Architects is one of the most respected Architectural Firms in the country where more than 100 people work on multiple projects at the same time.
Mr. Panjwani leads a team of architects, interior designers, engineers, computer designers, graphic designers, draughts persons. His leadership is widely respected not only within the company but also amongst his clients and the general public. He has been a mentor to several budding architects and has been instrumental in honing their skills and expanding their knowledge. Many of these architects are now running their own private practice and many of them still work with him. He has never been scared of giving opportunities and exposure to his team members and takes a back seat wherever he is confident that they are going to deliver a quality product. He is always around to point out the mistakes and solve the problems. This is the reason that the clients trust Panjwani Architects with their millions of rupees.
Blessed with a son and a daughter, the architect duo of Mr. Brij and Mrs. Ila Panjwani have a small family. His only son Harshil who is a Civil Engineer is married to Himadri who herself is a town planner. His only daughter Komal is also an architect and is settled in USA. She manages the overseas projects of Panjwani Architects. An avid reader and traveller Brij has been to all parts of the globe and uses his travels to study the architectural trends all over the world. He spends his leisure time in reading books and listening to music. He is nearing 60 years of age but there are no signs of retiring as he feels that I have a lot to contribute to the field of architecture. He is currently busy in completing Vardhman Hospital at Muzaffarnagar which is an architectural marvel in the field of healthcare.
